Beauty in Trauma : residency at Deconstrukt in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NYC. I worked at Deconstrukt to create a series of public art installations about the loss of my family in NY's East River in an accident in 2011. The work seeks to create a platform for open communication about loss and the beauty that can exist on a micro level, within fine details, when you are grieving, amidst a macro level of trauma. I wished to tell stories of loss and hope that the public can access. There are 3 sites: Deconstrukt, 41 Seabring Street, Open Source Gallery 234 Butler Street and Bergen and 4th Ave, all outside, all accessible to everyone.
